strength training

exercise for hypermobiles

The focus of Samasta lies on meeting your individuality through movement and mindfulness.

I’m a physiotherapist in training and draw on almost a decade of teaching experience, as well as continuous self directed study in many subjects that regard the mind and body.

When you decide to work with me, you won’t just get a “workout”. I will look at you through a holistic lens and together we’ll develop a movement and mindfulness practice suited for you.

I can also offer help on how to strengthen your body and manage your energy and pain levels with hypermobility (I’m also personally affected by Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD)).

What is the meaning of samasta and how is this training different?

“Samasta” is a Sanskrit adjective that can be translated as “joined, united, or the aggregate of all the parts”. I chose this word to symbolize how we will focus on joining your and my experience and knowledge, in order to help you feel better and integrate different body systems that are often looked at as separate.

In this process I unite different ideas, concepts and science that work with the body and mind. You'll be properly educated on how to work with your own body and how to change your lifestyle for more energy, confidence and pain reduction. In order for this process to take place and be fruitful, it will make sense to work with me over several sessions instead of just one (small group classes or privates).

I’m really unfit / have an injury / disability - can I still come to train or practice yoga with you?

Classes can be accommodated to all ability levels and most injuries and disabilities (message me if you’re unsure whether you can be accommodated).

What languages do you teach in?
I can teach classes in Swiss German, German, English & currently still somewhat limited Spanish.

What do you offer?

  • Offline & online personal training

  • Mysore style ashtanga yoga

  • Small group classes (in which the group starts and finishes together but for the main part the students have their own training plans)

What past students say

„I'm forever grateful for you, Tanja. The way you explain things to me and the plan you gave me is something that saved my life! I was suffering from this pain [hamstring attachment pain] for almost 4 years! The pain sometimes comes back, but when it comes back I do the session and it goes away. I never thought I would ever reach this point ever where there's days without pain, I never had an hour without pain before. So thank you so much for this ♥️♥️”

„I’ve been training for a long time but realized to reach some of my goals I needed specific guidance by someone experienced. Tanja made me understand the individual steps I need to follow and he also opened my eyes to exercises for joint health and longevity, because I want to train for as long as I possibly can. His teaching style is very straightforward while giving me all the background information I want.“
